Received estimates from several well-known and highly rated San Antonio roof repair companies. However, Cameron with Elk Roofing stood out because of his very positive approach and attitude. He personally met with the insurance adjuster and jointly inspected the roof. His communication was always prompt and professional. The work performed was excellent. Highly recommend.

We had hail damage to our roof and reached out to Michael D. with Elk Contracting. He met us at our home and was present for the entire inspection with our insurance adjuster. Our insurance company was difficult to work with, but thanks to Michael’s experience and persistence, they ultimately approved a full roof replacement instead of just minor repairs. Our roof was in rough shape, so we were shocked that insurance initially tried to lowball us. Thankfully, Michael knew exactly how to handle it. When we had a date for roof replacement the Elk Contracting crew delivered all the materials the day before so they could get started right away. They arrived early, worked efficiently, and completed the job in a very reasonable amount of time. They were respectful of our property, did a fantastic job cleaning up, and made sure to repair all underlying damage before laying the new shingles. I’ve heard so many horror stories about roofing projects, but our experience couldn’t have been easier from start to finish. The new roof looks beautiful, and we know it was done right. Huge thanks to Michael D. and the entire Elk Contracting team — we highly recommend them!

The entire Elk team did an amazing job from start to finish. Mike walked us through the entire process and explained exactly what to expect. Our roof had some hidden damage that needed repair but the team didnt flinch and got right on it which made everything more comforting knowing everything was getting repaired fully. Because of these hidden areas, the roof replacement took longer but the team got here early and stayed very late to make sure everything was taken care of (thank goodness too because we had an expected storm that night). The roof looks great and it is so nice to have that weight off our shoulders!

Fantastic service. I had some storm damage to my roof vents, and they were out here immediately to get everything fixed. I really appreciate the fast turnaround and quality work.

Travis was amazing, so helpful and informative. His team was 5 Star as well, had it done in one day and looks fantastic

They replaced the shingles, installed better roof jacks and installed a complete new system with ridge vents and improved ventilation. Nick and Cody did a great job. Timely, professional and skilled craftsman.

Michael Dalmolin with Elk Contracting did a great job with our roof replacement. After inspecting it for hail damage, he worked with our insurance company to get approval to replace both our main house and our guest house. Their workers were punctual, courteous, hard working and cleaned up the area daily. Both houses were finished in only 2 days and they look great. Even our neighbors commented that the workers were respectful of others and didn’t play their music loud enough to disturb anyone. I highly recommend this company!

With all the rain we’ve been having, we noticed some water dripping from the ceiling. Talked to Dennis and he came out THAT DAY, a Sunday. Got the cowboy on the roof and he diagnosed our problem. Not needing a new roof yet, he caulked up a few holes and , voila, problem solved. And no charge. This is the second time he helped us out. I can’t recommend any other roofer than Dennis Garrett, and he is our roofer for life. God bless that man.

Excellent all around! Dennis is professional and delivers what he promises.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Elk Contracting. Mr. Mike is an honest, straightforward, and easy-going contractor. I never felt pressured at any point, and he was always willing to answer my questions and educate me on the roof replacement process. A little backstory: I had noticed roof damage and reached out to several companies, but most of them quoted me exorbitant fees and suggested I try my insurance. When I filed a claim, my insurance initially denied it, saying there was no hail damage, even though we’d had multiple storms in the area and I had broken shingles in my yard. My dad had previously worked with Elk Contracting and recommended Mr. Mike. When he came out to inspect my roof, I mentioned the insurance denial. Without hesitation, he offered to meet the adjuster himself and point out the damages he observed. Sure enough, when the insurance came back for a reassessment, Mr. Mike walked them through the damage, and my claim was reversed. Insurance ended up covering the roof. On replacement day, Mr. Mike and his crew arrived early, completed the job in about eight hours, and left me with an outstanding result. The roof looks fantastic, and the whole process was seamless. I was left with a certificate that would reduce my insurance cost and peace of mind for a roof that needed replacement. I can’t recommend Elk Contracting enough. Mr. Mike is an honest, hardworking guy with a great team behind him. If you’re considering roof repair or replacement and want a contractor you can trust, this is the company to call.

Michael and all the guys at Elk contracting were amazing! I had nothing but problems with my insurance company through the whole ordeal. He broke it down and explained exactly what they were trying to get away with and he fought for me to the nail and in my opinion, won the battle. Once we finally got everything situated, he had material here within two days and the work was done the next day and I couldn’t be more happy!! Thank you so much for fighting for us!!

Travis came within 30 mins to fix a leak in our primary bathroom and is now dealing with our insurance to make sure everything gets taken care of the right way! Thanks so much!

Elk Contracting is amazing in terms of service, quality, and value. Value includes handling the insurance company and resulting in very fair coverage. Elk's owner and staff were with us from the start through the gutter replacement for a gorgeous new roof. We had water damage from the hailstorm that they came at their expense to get us through from initial quote to final inspection. During the roof install day, they rebuilt the area perfectly. I have framed and roofed houses and never saw better workmanship. Also amazing is that Elk stripped the old shingles, repaired wood, and completed the new roof IN THE SAME DAY. The owner and 4-6 of his staff were on hand during the day proving they are engaged - not middlemen who just hire labor crews. And, the roofers were not only great at roofing, but they were also professional and cleaned at the end leaving no evidence they were even there. Elk Contracting is one of the best contractors in my 50 years of building and remodeling homes.

Amazing work ! Mike and his crew were professional, efficient and concerned with satisfaction of quality work ! Look forward to other projects to come with Mike and Elk Contracting.

Professional, personal, efficient, what a refreshing change. A contractor that had really exceptional crews on time, to a high standard and had supervision throughout the project. No cost overruns, coordinated with my insurance company making that easier as well. Highly recommend!

Never thought I would say replacing a roof is painless, but it was. Great crew - left the work site spotless, tirelessly worked until finished. Mike - fantastic communications throughout the process, all questions answered. Highly recommend…superb.

Cody and the crew from Elk Contracting were extremely friendly, responsive and reasonably priced. They did some roof repairs and exterior repairs within a few days of calling. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a local contractor.

Great experience with the whole crew and process. Very professional... polite...clean...quick and thorough. Communication from beginning to end was superb! Roof and gutters look amazing! Highly recommend!

Elk Contracting was able to accommodate our budget, schedule us quickly and complete the project efficiently. Arturo’s communication was top notch. I’d recommend Art and Elk Contracting without hesitation.

We had our roof inspected and replaced in October. Elk Roofing did an outstanding job. The crew assigned to us was skilled, on time, and efficient. We specifically want to mention Travis, who was the work leader/supervisor on the project. He did an excellent job talking with our insurance company and was instrumental in getting a complete roof replacement approved. He was there throughout the entire project, ensuring that all went well. His customer service exceeded all of our expectations. We love our new roof and can highly recommend Elk Roofing.

Superior experience from beginning to completion with Dennis Garrett at Elk Contracting. I have been doing extensive research "before" needing to replace my aging roof. After receiving several quotes and recommendations, I was thoroughly impressed with the depth of knowledge, no pressure tactics, just the facts, that Mr Garrett presented. The crew worked very well together. Everything including my pool and plants were covered. Nothing was damaged and clean up was amazing. In two days I had a beautiful new roof and two solar fans. Do your research then call Dennis Garrett you will not be disappointed.

Excellent workmanship. Perfect seams. Travis Lindsay guided me, worked with insurance company relating to roof damage from the last two storms. Made everything easy. The roof is beautiful. Neighbor had a new roof installed by a different contractor. Wish they used mine. Would recommend Elk Contracting to anyone needing roof repair or replacement. More than met my expectations.

We couldn't be happier with the outstanding work Elk Contracting did replacing our roof after recent hail damage! From start to finish, the process was seamless and stress-free. Travis was an absolute rockstar throughout the entire project. He expertly guided us through the insurance claim process, making sure all the necessary details were covered and advocating on our behalf to get the full replacement approved. The crew was incredibly professional, efficient, and thorough. Our new roof looks amazing, and the cleanup was meticulous – not a nail or scrap in sight! We were also very impressed with the installation of our new gutters; they look fantastic and are working perfectly, a definite improvement to our home. A special thanks again to Travis for his exceptional communication and dedication. He kept us informed every step of the way, even providing photos of the progress. We highly recommend Elk Contracting, and especially Travis, for any roofing needs. Their quality work and commitment to customer satisfaction truly shine.
