With all the rain we’ve been having, we noticed some water dripping from the ceiling. Talked to Dennis and he came out THAT DAY, a Sunday. Got the cowboy on the roof and he diagnosed our problem. Not needing a new roof yet, he caulked up a few holes and , voila, problem solved. And no charge. This is the second time he helped us out. I can’t recommend any other roofer than Dennis Garrett, and he is our roofer for life. God bless that man.

Mike Damolin helped guide me through the entire process, from requesting a second review to providing all the necessary documentation to ensure they were on site to speak to the claims adjusters. They left absolutely no debris or trash behind. It was spotless. Even small details like matching the spray-painted piping/vents to the exact roof color were handled with care. I highly recommend Elk Contracting. Elk Contracting did an outstanding job installing a new roof to my home after a hail storm on 31 March 2025. They walk me through the process and did an inspection of my roof for free. What impress me the most about this company, they were not overbearing or did not try to give me a high sells pitch. This company spent time with me and answer all my questions. When the insurance company adjuster came out to inspect, Elk Contracting (Mike) did a joint inspection with my insurance company. My insurance company came to the same conclusion, I needed a new roof. Based on the joint inspection, My insurance company approved the settlement in a couple of days and My roof was installed in one day. Mike and his crew did an outstanding job installing my new roof. They did an outstanding job of cleaning up my lawn and my neighbor's lawn. He and his crew were very professional and they were prompt. My roof looks great.

Wow, I cannot say enough good things about Dennis Dean Garrett - the "Cowboy on Your Roof"! During recent heavy rains, the roof began leaking. He answered my Facebook inquiry message quickly, arrived within an hour and a half, climbed up on my roof and diagnosed the problems, personally delivered materials on Friday evening, and they showed up Saturday and did quality repairs and complete cleanup in a very short time! Dennis himself came back out the next day to help with some maintenance on old roofing issues I had (removing old satellite and internet towers that had been lag bolted through both roofs causing leaks and replacing more shingles and sealing as needed), which I consider going above and beyond! This is a man of honesty and integrity (you don't see much of that anymore), and I wouldn't use anyone else but this Cowboy on my Roof! Give him a call - you will be glad you did!

We recently went with Elk for our new roof and they were AMAZING. Their customer service is great, and easy to get ahold of. The roof itself came out great and was done in literally no time. Not only that but they’re so clean I didn’t need to worry about any stray nails in the driveway or backyard, AND they went around our neighbors yards to make sure no trash was left behind for them as well!

I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Elk Contracting. Mr. Mike is an honest, straightforward, and easy-going contractor. I never felt pressured at any point, and he was always willing to answer my questions and educate me on the roof replacement process.A little backstory: I had noticed roof damage and reached out to several companies, but most of them quoted me exorbitant fees and suggested I try my insurance. When I filed a claim, my insurance initially denied it, saying there was no hail damage,even though we’d had multiple storms in the area and I had broken shingles in my yard.My dad had previously worked with Elk Contracting and recommended Mr. Mike. Dennis Garrett and the guys from Elk Contracting did a phenomenal job on our roof in downtown Schulenburg. We had a very old standing seam metal roof that was easily twice as old as I am. We had countless leaks. I plan on keeping our business going for another 30+ years so I wanted to go with an option that I wouldn’t have to worry about ever again. After meeting with Dennis and discussing pricing options we decided to go back to a metal roof again. Him and his crew got to work quick and did a phenomenal job.
